Refund Policy

Last updated May 24, 2026

This Refund Policy describes when and how OpenCake (“OpenCake”, “we”, “us”, or “our”) issues refunds for subscriptions, usage charges, prepaid credit packs, and other amounts paid for the OpenCake website, applications, APIs, and services (collectively, the “Service”). It forms part of, and should be read together with, our Terms of Service. In the event of a conflict between this policy and the Terms of Service, the Terms of Service control.

1. General principle

OpenCake sells immediate access to digital software, subscriptions, generated assets, rendered videos, and prepaid credits. All purchases are final and non-refundable except where required by applicable law, where a payment provider, card network, court, or regulator requires otherwise, or where we decide in our sole discretion to issue a credit or refund.

We do not provide refunds for unused credits, partially used subscription periods, generated outputs, rendered videos, dissatisfaction with generated outputs, change of mind, failure to use the Service, or account termination caused by a violation of our Terms.

2. Subscriptions

  • Monthly plans. Monthly subscriptions are not pro-rated. Cancelling mid-month does not trigger a partial refund.
  • Annual plans. Annual subscriptions are paid up-front and are non-refundable after the statutory withdrawal window described in Section 4 has passed, or, where that window does not apply, after the subscription has been activated.
  • Plan changes. Upgrades take effect immediately and are charged on a pro-rated basis. Downgrades take effect at the start of the next billing period and do not generate a refund for the difference.
  • No free trials. OpenCake is paid access only. Subscription access begins after successful payment and continues through the end of the active billing period unless cancelled.

3. Generation credits and usage charges

Generation credits, render minutes, model usage, and other consumption-based units included with or purchased on top of a subscription are non-refundable once issued, including after cancellation. Unless the checkout states a different period, prepaid top-up credits expire ninety (90) days after purchase. Subscription credits expire at the end of the billing period in which they are issued.

If a generation fails for a reason directly attributable to OpenCake, we may, in our sole discretion, re-run the generation, restore the consumed credits, extend access, or issue another remedy we consider appropriate. Failed or refused generations caused by upstream providers, content-policy restrictions, unsupported files, poor reference materials, user error, or prompts that violate safety rules are not eligible for a cash refund.

4. Statutory right of withdrawal (EU, UK, and similar jurisdictions)

If you are a consumer resident in the European Union, the United Kingdom, or another jurisdiction that grants a statutory right of withdrawal, you have the right to withdraw from certain digital purchases within fourteen (14) days of the start date without giving any reason.

At checkout, you may be required to expressly request that OpenCake makes digital access, credits, and services available immediately upon purchase. By completing that acknowledgement and receiving immediate access, you agree that, to the maximum extent permitted by applicable consumer protection law, you may lose any statutory withdrawal or cooling-off right for the purchased digital service, credit pack, subscription access, or generated output once it is made available or performance begins.

To exercise the right of withdrawal where it still applies, send an unambiguous statement to billing@opencake.ai including your account email and order reference. Approved withdrawals are refunded to the original payment method within fourteen (14) days of approval.

5. Duplicate, erroneous, unauthorized, and provider-required refunds

If you believe you have been charged in error — for example, a duplicate charge, a charge after a confirmed cancellation, or a charge to a payment method you did not authorize — contact us at billing@opencake.ai within ninety (90) days of the charge with your account email and the relevant payment receipt or transaction ID. We will investigate and, where the charge is confirmed to be erroneous, issue a full refund of the disputed amount to the original payment method.

If Dodo Payments, a card network, a bank, a court, or a regulator requires a refund, reversal, dispute outcome, or chargeback result, we will follow that requirement even if our own policy would otherwise treat the purchase as final.

6. Affiliate commissions, refunds, and clawbacks

When a customer referred through the OpenCake affiliate program receives a refund, the associated affiliate commission is reversed. If the commission has already been paid out, OpenCake reserves the right to deduct the reversed amount from future affiliate payouts or to require repayment in accordance with the affiliate program terms. Commissions tied to fraudulent, abusive, or charged-back transactions are forfeited.

7. Chargebacks

We encourage you to contact us before initiating a chargeback with your card issuer or bank. Most billing issues can be resolved more quickly by emailing billing@opencake.ai. Chargebacks initiated without first contacting us, or for charges for which you have already received the benefit of the Service, may result in suspension or termination of your account and forfeiture of any remaining balance, credits, or affiliate commissions, without prejudice to any other rights or remedies available to us.

8. Service availability and outages

OpenCake does not provide service-credit or refund guarantees for downtime, latency, or temporary unavailability of features that depend on third-party platforms (including YouTube, TikTok, Meta, X, and upstream AI model providers). Where a documented, prolonged outage of the core Service materially deprives you of paid functionality, we will at our discretion extend your subscription term, restore consumed credits, or issue a partial refund proportionate to the impact.

9. How to contact us about billing

  1. Email billing@opencake.ai from the email address associated with your OpenCake account.
  2. Include the payment receipt or transaction ID, the approximate date of the charge, the amount, and a brief description of the billing issue.
  3. We aim to respond within five (5) business days. If a refund or reversal is approved or required, it will be issued to the original payment method unless the payment provider or applicable law requires otherwise.

10. Statutory rights

Nothing in this policy limits or excludes any mandatory statutory rights you may have as a consumer under the laws of your country of residence, including any right to a refund or remedy that cannot be waived by contract.

11. Changes to this policy

We may update this Refund Policy from time to time. Material changes will be announced in the product or by email, and the “Last updated” date at the top of this page will be revised. Charges made before the effective date of a change are governed by the version of the policy in effect at the time of the charge.
